The first three summers

The years between sapling and tree are the fragile ones. A seedling needs water, mulch, and a little luck — and we track all of it.

What we do

water     deep, infrequent, not daily sprinkles
mulch     replenished each spring
pests     monitored, treated only when needed
record    growth, health, and rainfall logged per tree

Why we watch

A tree that makes it past year three is very likely to outlive all of us. The care window is short; the payoff is a century.
